Product:

Business Analyze - Analyze (PRO)

Product version:

4.1.2.25337 – Service Release 1.2

Release date: 29 November 2011

We are happy to announce that this service release for the product platform is released and will be available as of today.

Analyze (PRO) 4.1.2 – Highlights

In this new service release we have worked a lot of new features and fixed bug issues.

Here some of the news from this new version:

User Sync

A new user sync tool is added. This will automatically synchronize users from a data source by using the Data Sync service.

Direct login from 3rd-party applications
It is now possible to login to Analyze Pro directly from a 3rd-party application. This will make the transition from your application to Analyze Pro seemless.

Login with automatic change of login method (forms fallback)
We have implement support for fallback to Forms Authentication if single sign on is enabled and the user can not logon.

Editor with support for parameters + minimized parameters
We have experienced that configuring dashboards with large databases took long time to load in the editor.  We now support the use of parameter in the editor and that the user can set the default startup parameters.

Dashboard states
From the editor in system adminstration (Analyze PRO) you will now be able to set the system state (default parameter settings)

A dashboard can be used on multiple tabs on different desktops. In 4.0, we introduced dashboard states instead of the URL parameter. This means that one dashboard can start up with different parameters by assigning it to different tabs. It is possible to manage all these dashboard states from the editor using a drop-down list as seeing above.

Minimized parameters

All parameters is now minimized for easier navigation. When you enable the checkbox in-front of the parameter name the list will be available.

Containerbased chaining
Chaining has been available as a way that visualizations can interact with each other since the early days of Business Analyze 4. Chaining is basically a parent - child relation ship defined between two visualizations on a dashboard. Any visualization can define one parent element but the visualization can have several child elements: One to many structure.

Until this version chaining between two visualizations could only be defined between the two elements. That is if the parent element had a drilldown in its own container, the chaining behaviour broke since the parent element was swapped with a new drilldown level. This is not a bug but rather a design issue.

In version 4.1.2 we can also create a chaining based on the parent container so that the chaining behavior never breaks even if the parent element makes a drilldown to a new visualization in the same container.
If you select containerbased chaining when you set up the parent reference, the current visualization (child) will continue to chain to whatever element that is rendered in the parent container.

We recommend everyone to upgrade to the latest version!

How to upgrade your solution?
  • Backup database + installation folder
  • Uninstall the old version
  • Run a setup installation
The only way to upgrade from an earlier version is using the Windows Installer Setup.
